Nike still uses child labor and sweatshops. (Mexico, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan and God knows where else).
Nike tried to make over their image huge and there are a bunch of advocate groups that have tried to get those children/people higher wages and better working conditions but that shit has been going on since the 70s. A few years ago a bunch of universities had protests because their college endorsed companies like Nike and had a relationship with them. Nike was at the center.
